Dear Europhiles!
The Irish have St. Patrick's day, The French have Bastille day, The Germans have
Octoberfest, so what do the Dutch have?
The Dutch have Queensday which is the biggest annual Orange celebration
in the Netherlands. It commemorates the Queens birthday and as our Royal Family last name is Van Oranje-Nassau it makes perfectly
sense that we all dress up in our favourite Orange outfit and blend in at this 7th annual official party endorsed by the S.F
Dutch Consulate General who will all be present :)
There will be free Dutch Appetizers such as: Haring, Sateh,
Drop, Dutch Chocolate, Peppermints, Gouda Kaas, Marzipan, Beschuit met Muisjes, Bitterballen, and all the Dutch snacks you
can imagine.
The Decor will have an entire Dutch theme, 3 years ago we had the entire wall painted with windmills
and churches. This year we will have Dutch artists adding their pieces to the decor as well.
The music will start
with Dutch Music in the beginning of the night although Dutch music could range from rock, reggae, pop, folk, and fun songs.
Then it will blend European Dance music and at Midnight it will be a tribute to the best Dutch DJ's in the world from DJ Tiesto,
Armin van Buuren, Feddy, Marco V, DJ Jean, Marcel Woods, Sander Van Doorn, and Ferry Corsten.
It is truly amazing
to see how fun it is to watch Hundreds of Dutch People jumping around to fun crazy music while drinking their Heineken or
Grolsch and never spill a drop!
